How often can you have a microdermabrasion done?

November 1, 2009

I have a few blemishes that I want to get rid of. I had a microdermabrasion done last week can I get another one done this week or would that be to harsh on my skin?

You need to wait at least 2 weeks in between treatments, so that the skin has enough time to heal. 14 days is the recovery period necessary for new skin cells to emerge instead of the exfoliated skin layer. A new sessions to soon might hurt your skin, so I say wait for another week. If your skin is darker, it takes about 3 weeks to recover.
Please don’t mess with your skin!

I do them every single sunday and I feel my skin reacts best to once a week.

you should only do them once a month because they are too harsh if you do them too often

That depends on what you are terming microdermabrasion, what method was used, how deep it was taken. Professional MDA can remove the entire epidermis. So, can you be more specific?

If its actual microdermabrasion then I believe the average interval is 2 to 3 weeks, but this can vary depending on work skin type.
