Yes, microdermabrasion will help. You also may want to look into a combination peel/microdermabrasion/photorejuvenation option.

Yes microdermabrasion will help with spots and scars from acne. But it takes more than one time, you have to be patient. As for Fotofacial, you have to find out if its right for your skin type.

if your in your 20’s to say 32 try to stray away a little longer, stimulating your collagen to early you’ll being using it up to young then later when your 40’s you’ll have to do stronger and more abrasive treatment like a dermabrasions or harsh chemical peel when you should be doing those at 50-60’s
I’d recommend trying a vitamin C serum treatment or even the serum during your daily facial care, before moisturizer.
I go to school for skin care and i educate my clients with every treatment there is so much information that the normal person does not know about caring for there skin; on a cloudy day 80% of UV rays still get through.

Photofacials and microderma have the same results, with the difference that fotofacials cannot be performed on dark skinned people. so I believe that the best option for you is microdermabrasion, a full series treatment (6 to 12 depending on how serious your spots are).
you will see results immediately, but best results are noticeable after the full treatment.
do the maintenance skin routine also (with at home microderma kits) and you will get rid of all those nasty brown spots. I had the same problem and now I can say my face is even and nice without having to put foundation on it.
