Is it okay to use anti wrinkle creams at 17?

I want to preserve my skin so it doesn’t wrinkle as much when I’m older. Is it bad to use anti wrinkle stuff when your young or does it just benefit your skin in the long run?

You can, but it’s not advisable. Start it when you’re 25, till then mosturize and wear sun block.

it won’t really make a difference in the long run. it’ll just mess up your skin.

Benefits in the long run, for sure. I’ve seen it many times on different talk shows, (Oprah) haha. It’s never too early to take care of your skin! Use Spf as well!

Your too young to start using anti creams. You really don’t need them until you actually START getting wrinkles.

It won’t harm your skin. It might actually help you in the long run, just make sure you use sunscreen and limit the amount of time you spend in the sun because prolonged sun exposure can cause wrinkles.

No, don’t use them.
They mess your skin up and you should just cleanse your skin with facial wipes, cream, etc.
NOT use anti-wrinkle.

Uhm no you don’t have wrinkles at seventeen. It will only make you older and mess up your skin. Just use moisturizer, sunblock, and stop being weird!

well, to be quite honest, most anti wrinkle creams aren’t that effective for those of us with wrinkles. the best thing you can do to preserve your skin is take care of it. use sunscreen, gentle cleansers, moisturizer. avoid any drastic procedures such as chemical peels. drink lots of water and eat well. when your body is hydrated and healthy your skin glows naturally. and if you wear makeup always clean your face before bed.
hope this helps

i found this site, where they where asking the EXACT same question as you.. and here was there response:

You don’t really need them. But you can never really start too early so if you would like, I do not think its bad. :
As a licensed Hairdresser and Esthetician I would highly recommend it. I have 4 girls and from the start of puberty I encouraged them to take care of their skin by using good reliable products that were not too caustic and didn’t have a lot of other chemicals in them. Be sure to read your labels. Always follow directions explicitly. I would suggest that you take a look with you mother at glimpse.com and see if this is something you both could use
yes it is okay to start taking care of your skin now. I use Avon’s solutions am and pm they have it for dry, normal / combination skin types its only about 15. 00 for each check it out here is my reps site plus everything in the environment hurts are skin no matter what age we are just think of it this way everyday we ages so start now its only a moisturizer no anti aging stuff just to help a Lil
Dont. Its a waste since you do not have wrinkles
in my opinion those anti aging cream do not even work so. i think its pretty dumb for anyone to use them
teens are not even aging yet so nope
its ok its perfectly fine im 23 and i use them so. i think they work
there is nothing wrong with starting early. you don’t even need "anti – aging" products to have your skin looking young and healthy even when you get older. The best anti – aging product you can start using is a SUNSCREEN. exposure to uva rays are the #1 cause of aging. another thing you can do is use a moisturizer. keeps skin hydrated and protected from outside elements. as for the "anti – aging" anti – aging products, you can start using them just for preventative care, though it isn’t really necessary. the important thing for anti – aging is taking care of your skin. you don’t even really need to slather on multiple products as long as you keep your skin healthy
they do not need it. its kind of a waste
My grandma always use to tell me to use anti aging stuff and anti wrinkle stuff. You may not need it now. But it DEFF will prevent in the long run. So i would say GO for it. When your old you’ll be thankful!
For me, it doesn’t matter. It’s ok to take care of your skin while you’re young but see to it that you’re using a good skin care products. I have found a very good website that could help you philosophydiscount.com / . It is a good site about skin care
It is not good to use anti – aging product at a such a young age, it will only make your age quicker
worri much?Your gonna be fine without it. unless your a freak and have wrinkles already y use it. if not just save it for your rents. their not as young as yu.

at this point use a moisturiser with UVA/UVB protection and wear sunglasses with UVA/UVB protection. People think I am in my twenties, but I am in my forties.

Well, I asked the same question to myself when I was 17. I used creams and foundation everyday. Now I am 40 and have pretty good skin without a lot of wrinkles.

So I would say yes, but not sure if it is ani-wrinkle cream you need. I believe my good skin is from the spf the foundation provided. Use something to keep the sun away from your skin. Also, I did not wash my face too much. I actually did not wash my face at the end of the day, only in the morning shower.

There’s nothing wrong with using anti-wrinkle creams when you’re 17 but you’re just wasting your money really because there’s no real need to use them until your early-mid 20s. You’re right that you need to use them when you’re younger- people who are already wrinkled don’t get anywhere near the benefit of them compared to people who used them from a young age- but you’re much better at your age to use a light moisturizer with an SPF because the sun will do the damage that causes the wrinkles in the first place (along with smoking, using sunbeds, eating and drinking crap and not keeping hydrated). Prevention is better than cure and all that. I worked in cosmetic surgery for a couple of years or so, and out of the older women that would ask about other stuff and who eventually ended up talking about Botox and facelifts only because they didn’t feel they needed Botox/chemical peels/facelifts etc all used to say the same thing, that they never bothered with any of the fancy stuff that’s on the market, they just used to cleanse, some toned, and moisturized with basic simple products. Cold cream, rosewater (as a toner), Oil of Olay, Pond’s; it was always that type of stuff they swore by so I think if it worked for them it’s got to work for the rest of us.
If you’re paying out for anti-wrinkle stuff now, I’d say you’re better to take that money and try some different products until you find the right combination of things that include a moisturizer or light foundation with SPF, a really good cleanser (I prefer foaming ones because the cream ones don’t make me feel as clean, although I use an old-fashioned cold cream as a make-up remover and it removes everything, even dark eye make-up + Urban Decay Magic Potion) and whatever else you fancy to leave your skin feeling clean, refreshed and soft. Lush Coalface is a great scrub to use once a week or so but your skin might be too young for it. I’m actually quite chuffed that at 30 I still get asked for ID for wine and things like that and I take that as proof that what those un-Botoxed, un-facelifted, unpeeled women said worked!

BTW There is this idea that anti-wrinkle treatments are only to be used once you’ve got wrinkles, but that’s not the case. They’re best used to prevent wrinkles, it’s just you don’t need to use them quite yet. Once the wrinkles are there the damage is done and while some products can improve them, they’ll never remove them so the thing to do is to look after your skin til you’re a few years older, then start to use them. It’s not always the most expensive ones that are best either, it’s really worth shopping round for them.

I don’t think it is bad. Indeed, it is best to start using anti-wrinkle cream when you don’t have wrinkles yet. I’ve been reading an article talking about tips for anti wrinkle at young age too:
